LEAP conducted the Faculty Development Program for LP111 - Build a Better Product at Chitkara University, Chandigarh
The program began with an inauguration ceremony. This was followed by an introduction to the program, which was addressed by Prof. S. C. Jain. During this session, the fundamental concepts of product design were explained, with a focus on Reverse Engineering.
Day 2 focused on product design with mechanical/electrical components, visual thinking, and BOM preparation. Participants worked hands-on with products like exhaust fans, ceiling fans, and induction stoves. In the afternoon, they explored embedded systems, programming Arduino boards to control LED lights.
On Day 3, activities included LED control, relay modules, and sensor experiments. Faculty built
Arduino-based systems using actuators and sensors. The session concluded with discussions on design
patterns and a pen-and-paper assignment on feature enhancements introduced earlier.
The program provided valuable insights into product design and embedded systems.
Participants: 20 faculty participated in the FDP Program
